igCombo Accessibility Compliance

Introduction

All of the Ignite UI for jQuery™ controls and components comply with Section 508, Subpart 1194.22 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

To meet the requirements each accessibility rule, in some cases, you may need to interact with the control by to setting a specific property, but in other cases the control does the work for you.

Note: As jQuery controls are client-only, some of the rules are not supported and are marked as limitations.

Accessibility reference chart

The table below briefly explains how the igCombo complies to the corresponding Section 508 rules.

  • a: A text equivalent for every non-text element is provided.

  • c: All information from the igCombo control conveyed with color is also available without color.

  • d: Content rendered by the igCombo control is readable even without an associated style sheet.

  • j: The igCombo control does not itself contribute to causing the screen to flicker with a frequency greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 Hz.

  • k: The igCombo control supports scenarios where a text-only page, with equivalent information or functionality, shall be provided to make a web site comply with the provisions of this part, when compliance cannot be accomplished in any other way.

  • l: The igCombo control scripts can be identified with functional text that can be read by assistive technology.

  • p: When a timed response is required, the user is alerted and given sufficient time to indicate more time is required.
